H. Wyburn George and Freda Smith, wedding description, Vancouver Sun, November 18, 1912, page 7:

“George—Smith

At Christ church on Saturday morning a quiet wedding was solemnized by the Rev. C.C. Owen, the bridal pair being Miss Freda Smith, the youngest daughter of the late Mr. Stephen Smith of Turville Grange, Henley-on-Thames, and Mrs. Smith, of 1562 Thirteenth avenue east, Vancouver, and Mr. H. Wyburn George, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivory George of South Norwood, Surrey.

The bride, who wore a travelling suit of grey and grey hat trimmed with cerise, was given away by her mother, Mrs. Smith, and Mr. J.L Matson acted as best man. Mr. Chubb, the organist at Christ church, rendered very admirably, Elgar’s ‘Salut d’Amour,’ before the ceremony, and Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March,” as the wedding party left the church. They travelled to Victoria, where the honeymoon will be spent, the same morning [sic].

Mr. and Mrs. George, who have a large circle of friends in the city, have been the recipients of many beautiful presents. The evening prior to the wedding Mrs. Stephen Smith entertained a company of friends at an ‘at home’ and dance in honor of her daughter’s marriage. Mr. and Mrs. George will reside at Holly lodge, Davie street, upon their return from Victoria.”
