Williamson, Allan Thomas Little (1882-1955)

Allan Thomas Little Williamson was an accountant and bank manager. He lived at 1931 Nelson Street in 1919.

He was born on October 14, 1882, born in Grenville, Quebec. His father was Thomas Hugh Williamson (born 1854 in Quebec); his mother was Mary J. Little (born 1856 in Ontario). Thomas and Mary were married in Ottawa, Ontario on December 7, 1881.

In 1899, he enrolled as a recruit in Canadian Volunteers for Active Service in the war in South Africa. He returned to Canada, and by 1901 he was living in Ottawa, Ontario, working as a clerk with the Bank of Ottawa.

On September 14, 1909, in Ottawa, he married Ethel Emma Mcconnell. She was born on December 17, 1883, in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario; her father was Rinaldo Mcconnell (born 1852 in Mattawa, Ontario); her mother was Emman Vaughan (born September 8, 1861, in Van Kleek Hill, Ontario).

About a year after their marriage, Allan and Ethel had their first child, Donald McConnell Williamson, who was born in Ottawa on August 22, 1910.

Allan first appeared in Vancouver in 1910, working with Walter Hayes and Co., who were commission merchants and importers. In1912, he was an accountant with the Bank of Ottawa. About 1914, Allan and Emma had a daughter, Glenn T. Williamson. By 1916, Allan was the manager of the Bank of Ottawa’s branch in Vancouver.

About 1919, the family moved to Seattle, Washington. They were still living in Seattle in 1930.

Allan died at Fort Steilacoom, in Washington State, on June 25, 1955. Ethel died on October 5, 1975, in Shasta, California.

Allan and Ethel had two children:

Donald McConnell Williamson

Donald was born in Ottawa, Ontario, on August 22, 1910. In 1940, He was an explosives salesman. He was married to Sallie Sue White. Their daughter, Sue Allen Williamson, was born in Washington State about 1940. Donald appears to have died in 1967. Sallie Sue appears to have died in 1994.

Glenn T. Williamson

Glenn was born in Canada (probably Vancouver) possibly on February 20, 1915. In 1940, she was a clerk with Columbia Steele Co.  in Seattle, Washington. On November 29, 1964, in Shasta, California, she married James Leonard Gates. James was born on July 31, 1903; he died in Hyampom, Trinity, California on January 16, 1985. Glenn appears to have died on April 6, 1988, in Jefferson County, Washington.
