Samuel Grossman was a jeweler and operator of a trust and loan company. He lived at 1818 Comox Street in 1911.

It appears that Samuel was born in Poland (or Germany) on July 15, 1874. His parents were Frank and Annie Grossman. According to the 1911 Canada census, Samuel arrived in Canada about 1881.

On January 4, 1899, in Toronto, Ontario, Samuel married Ray Rosenthal. She was born in Toronto in 1879 (although one source says it was January 1, 1881). Her parents were Harris and Jennie Rosenthal.

The Grossmans lived in Indiana, and in Cleveland, Ohio, in the early 1900s, and in Washington State for a time, before arriving in Vancouver about 1908.

Samuel appeared at the following addresses in the Vancouver directories.

1909 and 1910 876 Hamilton Street
1911 1818 Comox Street

In 1909 Samuel was a jeweler at 604 West Hastings Street.

Samuel did not appear in the Vancouver directories after 1911.

It appears that the family moved to San Diego, California about 1912. Samuel died in San Diego on September 3, 1913.

Ray and the rest of the Grossman family continued to live in California.

It appears that Ray died in San Diego, on March 26, 1946.

Samuel and Ray had the following children.

Joseph Grossman was born in Indian in August 1900. He was living in San Diego with Ray Grossman in 1920.

Harry Grossman was born in Ohio on November 30, 1902. He died in San Diego, California on December 24, 1989.
