Mary lived for some time with her daughter, Wilhelmina, in Canby, Oregon. Whilhelmina was married to Charles Nicholas Wait, a local postmaster who later became a lawyer and judge.

Mary later lived in Seattle.

Mary died in Canby, Oregon, on May 21, 1935. She was buried in Riverview Cemetery in Portland.

Newspaper advertisements in 1910 and 1911 gave Oscar’s address as Mountain Home, Idaho, which is southeast of Mayfield.

According to some sources, Louise was born in Clinton, North Dakota, on August 31, 1883. (However, other sources say that she was born in Barnsville, Minnesota.) Her father was Charles M. Lytle (born about 1848; died between 1900 and 1910); he worked at a variety of jobs, including salesman, clerk and bartender. Louise’s mother was Julia Agnes Finn (1863-1938), who sometimes worked as a dress-maker.

Oscar first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1913. He was a mechanic for Pierce Arrow Motor Cars, at 1219 Georgia Street. He was living at 1120 West Pender Street.

Oscar died in Port Alberni on January 29, 1964. He was buried in River Bend Roman Catholic Cemetery in Port Alberni.

Louise died in Port Alberni on September 10, 1971. She was buried in River Bend Roman Catholic Cemetery in Port Alberni.

Oscar and Louise had the following children.

 

George Robert Katzschan

George Robert (“Bob”) Katzschan was born in the Collingwood area of Vancouver about 1913.

On June 3, 1940, in Patricia Bay, British Columbia, he married Gladys Grievson Duffy, who was a telephone operator. She was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, on February 15, 1916. Her parents were Decimus Duffy and Dora Jackson.

Gladys died in Nanaimo on July 31, 1986.

It appears that Bob died in 2002.

 

Edward Charles Kutzschan

Edward Charles Kutzschan was born in Vancouver on September 5, 1914.

He became a signalman in the Royal Canadian Navy.

On October 11, 1940, in Vancouver, he married Margaret Elvira Dickie, who was a theatre usherette. She was born in Vancouver about 1920. Her parents were Robert Livingstone Dickie and Elvira Gwendoline Fitzgerald.

This marriage ended in divorce in Vancouver on December 8, 1949.

Edward died in Vancouver on March, 1955. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

On November 2, 1957, in Whatcom County, Washington, Margaret married Benjamin James Rose. He was born in Vancouver on July 7, 1917. His parents were Benjamin Rose and Emma White. When Benjamin died in Vancouver on October 11, 1986, he was still married to Margaret.

 

John (“Jack”) Frederick Katzschan

John (“Jack”) Frederick Katzschan was born in Vancouver on January 23, 1921.

He worked as a lumber grader for MacMillan Bloedel in Port Alberni, British Columbia.

He later lived in Sooke, British Columbia.

He died in Victoria, British Columbia on May 5, 2012.
