Cecil Axford Prowse was the manager of the Macdonald Marpole Company, the Vancouver Tug and Barge Company, and the Marpole Coal Company. He lived at 743 Denman Street in 1920 and 1921.

Cecil first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1911. He was a shipper with Macdonald Marpole and Company’s head office at 1001 Main Street.

On December 16, 1916, in Vancouver, Cecil married Janie Elizabeth Davidson. She was born on January 1, 1879, in Leigh, Edinburgh, Scotland. Her father was Thomas Davidson. Her mother was Matilda Rutherford.

Cecil worked for Marpole Coal and Marpole Towing during the rest of his career in Vancouver.

Cecil died in Vancouver on April 26, 1966.

Janie died in Vancouver on March 22, 1971. She was buried in Valley View Memorial Gardens in Surrey, British Columbia.

Cecil Axford Prowse was born in Vancouver on April 11, 1920. He married Marguerite Gillanders (1919-2003).

Cecil died on December 6, 2015.

 

May Rutherford Prowse

May Rutherford Prowse was born in Vancouver on July 19, 1923.

She never married.

She died in Victoria, British Columbia, on October 29, 1983.
