By 1950, Charles was retired and was living with Christina at 5025 Joyce Road in Vancouver.

He died in Vancouver on March 26, 1955, and he was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Christina died in Vancouver on May 19, 1963. She was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby.
