He lived at the following addresses in Vancouver.

1896 1113 Nelson Street
1897 1300 Comox Street
1898 and 1899 805 Bute Street
1900 and 1900-1901 786 Bute Street (with Mrs. B.L. Wolfe, widow, who later became his mother-in-law)

1902 to 1904 786 Bute Street
1905 765 Broughton Street

On April 18, 1906, in Vancouver, Alexander married Babette Ethel Wolfe. She was born on August 26, 1882, in British Columbia (possibly in Nanaimo). Her father was Marcus Wolfe (1851-1896), who was an insurance agent and real estate broker in Nanaimo. Babette’s mother was Bertha Louise Mayer. Henry Dodge Averill (1867-1921) was the best man at the wedding.

Alexander continued to work for the Imperial Bank in Vancouver. By 1911, he was the manager of the Imperial Bank’s branch at 84 West Hastings Street.

In 1915, Alexander and Babette moved to Victoria. They lived at 1312 Victoria Avenue in Oak Bay from 1915 to 1930.

Alexander belonged to the Victoria Golf Club and the Union Club.

On the evening of Saturday, August 23, 1930, Alexander left Victoria for a trip of two or three weeks to Toronto, Ontario. He took the C.N.R. boat from Victoria to Vancouver, and then stayed overnight in Vancouver. On Sunday, he boarded the 1:35 p.m. train from Vancouver to Toronto. When the train stopped at Kamloops, British Columbia about 11:00 p.m., Alexander got off the train. Later, his hat and coat were found on a coffer dam at the C.N.R. bridge, and on Monday, a body was discovered in the Thompson River.

Alexander’s brother-in-law, Edward Carew-Gibson, went to Kamloops, and identified the body. The death certificate said simply that drowning was the cause of death. After a funeral in Victoria, Alexander was buried in Ross Bay Cemetery.

It appears that Alexander and Babette did not have any children.

Babette later married William Harold Kerr Anderson, a physician who was a widower. He was born on January 29, 1873, in Montreal, Quebec. His father was William Joseph Anderson, who was a banker. In 1901, he married Beatrice Louise Stanton Mccosh, who was born in 1875. He served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. Beatrice died in 1926.

William and Beatrice travelled to England. They returned to Canada in October 1933.

By 1934, William and Babette were living in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia. Babette died on July 26, 1935, in Qualicum Beach. She was buried in Qualicum Beach Cemetery.

William later married Dorothy Helen Chamberlain.

William died in Vancouver on May 31, 1943. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Victoria Daily Colonist, November 21, 1896, page 1; http://archive.org/stream/dailycolonist18961121uvic/18961121#page/n0/mode/1up: “Nanaimo telegrams yesterday brought the surprising and painful intelligence that Mr. Marcus Wolfe, one of the Coal City’s most prominent residents, had committed suicide by shooting himself at the office of the Nanaimo water company, of which he was secretary. The deed is said to have been prompted by reverses in business, the extent of which cannot be learned until a thorough investigation is held. Mr. Wolfe was one of the most prominent and advanced member of the Masonic order in this province; and his widow and child will have the sincerest sympathy of the craft, as well as of the Nanaimo and Victoria public in their heavy affliction.”
