Eva was born in Whitby, Ontario on March 15, 1873. Her parents were James Byrne (1835-1877) and Mary Walter Mason (1846-1924).

James Byrne was a druggist. He died in Whitby on July 28, 1877, and he was buried in Oshawa Union Cemetery in Oshawa, Ontario.

In October 1915, Edwin was slightly injured in a logging accident in Burnaby. A logging cable struck him and threw him about 20 feet, but he did not receive serious injuries.

In November 1916, the Taylor family moved to the United States.

Edwin Byrne Taylor

Edwin Byrne Taylor was born in Vancouver on January 7, 1909.

In 1920 he was living with his parents at Manhattan Beach, California.

In 1930, he was living with his parents in Los Angeles. He was working as a manager for a motion picture supply business.

On February 7, 1935, in Los Angeles, Edwin married Virginia Standen Hanawalt. She was born on October 28, 1912, in Denver, Colorado. Her parents were Ernest Erway Standen (1891–1968) and Genevieve R. Cheely (1890–1988). Genevieve’s second husband was Barrett Hanawalt (1890–1966).

In 1940, Edwin registered with the United States military draft system. He was living in Burbank, California. He was an employee of Vancouver Motion Pictures Limited.

Virginia died in Los Angeles on February 14, 2002.

After several years he became a traveling salesman for several Toronto wholesale drug houses. From 1914 to 1924 he again kept a drugstore in Whitby. Mr. Whitfield was very involved in the work of the Methodist Tabernacle and was Recording Steward for many years. He was also a member of the Whitby Board of Education and a director of the Ontario Ladies’ College for several years. Mr. Whitfield died at Whitby on January 2, 1928 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.”
