Anderson Littlehailes lived at 1929 Beach Avenue in 1904 (and possibly in 1903). He was a clerk with Andrew M. Tyson, who was a fish merchant.

Anderson Littlehailes was born on June 21, 1879, in Sunderland, England. His parents were John Littlehailes and Jane Storie.

In 1881 Anderson was living with his parents in Monk Wearmouth, Durham, England.

In 1891 he was living with his mother in Bishop Wearmouth, Durham.

He arrived in Canada about 1899.

He first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1903. He was living in an unnumbered address on Beach Avenue (possibly 1929 Beach Avenue), and working as a clerk for Andrew M. Tyson.

Anderson lived at the following addresses in Vancouver.

1903 Unnumbered address on Beach Avenue
1904 1929 Beach Avenue
1905 335 Robson Street
1906 1709 Burnaby Street
1907 to 1909 1701 Burnaby Street
1910 to 1932 3526 Point Grey Road

On April 25, 1905, in Vancouver, he married Eleanor May Simmons (often called “Nellie”). She was born in Gibson, New Brunswick on July 6, about 1870 or 1871. Her parents were James Edward Simmons and Hannah Burpee.

In 1908, Anderson became a clerk with the wholesale fruit company of Rainsford and Company. (Benjamin C. Rainsford lived at 1047 Denman Street in 1905 and 1906 and at 2000 Beach Avenue in 1907 and 1908.)

It appears that Anderson and Nellie moved to Pender Harbour, British Columbia about 1932.

Nellie died in Pender Harbour on June 26, 1933. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Anderson appeared in the 1934 Pender Harbour directory as “A Littnails.”

Sun British Columbia Directory, 1934, page 378 (Irvine’s Landing; Pender Harbour).
