William Richard David was an accountant and secretary treasurer of the Peerless Steam Laundry. He lived at 2037 Pendrell Street from 1917 to 1920 and from 1922 to 1926.

William Richard David was born in Clun, Shropshire, England on May 7, 1853. His father was Alexander David, who was a supervisor of inland revenue. William’s mother was Amy Radon Drake.

In 1874, in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, William married Ruth Hannah (“Annie”) Hill. She was born on December 9, 1856, in Dudley, Worcestershire. Her father was John Hill, who was a miner. Annie’s mother was Mary Anne Rickman.

The David family lived in Dudley until the early 1880s. About 1881, they moved to Canada and settled in Manitoba. They lived for some time in Winnipeg and in the Medora and Deloraine area of southwestern Manitoba.

By 1911, William was an accountant in the Manitoba land titles office in Winnipeg.

He later established an accounting business with his son, William Llewellyn David.

By 1921, he had begun his association with the Peerless Steam Laundry, which was at 1698 West Third Avenue.

On April 8, 1906, probably in Vancouver, Carrie married James Frederick Jameson, who was a physician. He was born on December 22, 1871, in India (although one source says that he was born in Philadelphia in the United States).

“Many Mourn Passing of Mr. Orville Seeber; Popular and Prominent Bank Official. Has Relatives in Ottawa,” Ottawa Citizen, October 27, 1925, page 3; https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=5FkuAAAAIBAJ&sjid=m9kFAAAAIBAJ&pg=7009%2C4779408:

“Mr. Orville Seeber, of Regina, Sask., one of the most popular and prominent bank officials of the West, passed away early this morning at his residence in Regina. Deceased had been ill but a few weeks and his passing comes as a great shock to his countless friends, both in the West and East. The late Mr. Seeber was in his forty-eighth year. His brother, Mr. George S. Seeber, of Saginaw, Mich., formerly a resident of Ottawa, was with him during the last ten days.

Few bank officials in the Canadian West were better known or more highly respected than the late Mr. Seeber. His was a delightful personality and it was a privilege to know him. Always bright and genial, he fairly radiated goodwill to his fellow men, and whether in business, social or fraternal life, his associates ever found him a stronghold of sincerity and honor.

Mr. Seeber had been connected with the Union Bank of Canada for over a quarter of a century, most of that period with banking interest in the province of Saskatchewan. He was manager at Regina for many years until the recent amalgamation with the royal Bank, and since he continued as manager in the same institution to which he had given his keen business ability and faithful services for so long a period.

The late Mr. Seeber was the second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Orville Seeber, of Smiths Falls, Onta. Besides his widow, who was before her marriage Miss Alice David, he leaves one brother, Mrs. George Seeber, of Saginaw, Mich., and one sister, Miss Louise (Ouida) Seeber, also of Saginaw, formerly of Ottawa. Another brother, Mr. Harry Seeber, who established the Canadian Mercantile Agency in Ottawa, is deceased, and a sister, the later Miss Emma Seeber, was a well-known newspaper woman, having been connected with The Citizen for a few years.

Mr. W. Stansel Seeber, manager of the Somerset street branch of the Royal Bank, Ottawa, is a nephew, and Mrs. W. Murdie, of 146 James street, Ottawa is a niece of the deceased.”
