Mark Odell was the manager of Henry McFee and McDonald, a Seattle-based contracting firm. He lived at 1890 Comox Street in 1914 and 1915.

He was born on January 13, 1869, near Baldwinsville, New York. He attended Cornell University from 1893 to 1897, where he participated in athletics, especially rowing. He planned to study law at Cornell, but in 1898 he went to the Klondike to join the search for gold.

In 1899, he moved to Seattle. In the 1900 United States census, he appeared as “agent” for the White Pass Rail Road. He later he became a contractor in Seattle. He also supported the rowing program at the University of Washington.

On February 4, 1911, in Seattle, Mark married India Belle Poulson. She was born in Iowa in July 1876. In 1900, she had been a school teacher in Colorado. By 1910, she was in Seattle.

In 1914 and 1915, he was temporarily working in Vancouver, although he spent most of his working career in Seattle.

India died in Seattle in 1952.

Mark died in Seattle in 1963.

Mark and India had the following children.

 

Mark Odell, Junior

Mark Odell, Junior was born in Washington about 1912. He died in Seattle in 1946.

 

Burr Odell

Burr Odell was born in Vancouver on August 15, 1914. He later went to Seattle with his parents, and went to school in Seattle. He served with the United States Navy during the Second World War.

He became a sales executive for Olympic Stain Products, and then worked for the Boeing Company, and later became a real estate broker.

He died on December 7, 2010.

 

Margaret Odell

Margaret Odell was born in Washington on January 8, 1917. In 1941 she married John Willard Lundin, Junior (about 1914-1958).

She died on May 11, 2001.
