James Robert Pollock was a teacher. He lived at 1808 Nelson Street in 1911.

James Robert Pollock was born on August 19, 1870, on Port Elgin, Ontario. His parents were John King Pollock (1830-1910) and Rachel Beaton (1835-1921).

In 1871, 1881 and 1891, James was living with his parents in Ontario.

In 1901, he was in Regina, Northwest Territories (later Saskatchewan). He was a school teacher.

On August 6, 1901, in Owen Sound, Ontario, James married Elizabeth (“Lizzie”) Struthers. She was born on November 30, 1873, in Owen Sound, Ontario. Her parents were James Struthers and Jane Webster.

In 1906, James and Elizabeth were living in Regina.

James first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1911. He was living at 1808 Nelson Street, and he was a teacher at Dawson School.

By 1912, James was the principal at Dawson School.

He continued his employment with the Vancouver School District through the 1920s and 1930s. He retired about 1936.

Elizabeth died in Vancouver on April 13, 1957.

James died in Vancouver on September 26, 1957.

James and Elizabeth had the following children.

 

James Robert Pollock

James Robert Pollock was born in Regina, Northwest Territories (later Saskatchewan), on June 20, 1903.

He became a teacher. In 1940 he was the director of visual education with the Vancouver City School Board.

On June 19, 1941, in Vancouver, he married Mildred Brown Lynn, who was a school teacher.

Mildred was born about 1907 in Dromore, County Antrim, Ireland. Her parents were Robert Lynn and Annie Devlin.

James died at the University of British Columbia hospital in Vancouver on April 10, 1989.

 

Douglas Beaton Pollock

Douglas Beaton Pollock was born in Regina, Northwest Territories (later Saskatchewan) on December 28, 1904.

He attended the University of British Columbia and became a teacher.

He married Frances Lillian McDonald. She was born in Spokane, Washington, on April 14, 1908. Her parents were Forrest McDonald and Katherine Reffe.

For a time, Frances worked in an antique shop.

Douglas died in Vancouver on August 12, 1981.

Frances died in Vancouver on February 27, 1992.

 

Mary Elizabeth Pollock

Mary Elizabeth Pollock was born in Vancouver in December 1909.

On December 26, 1938, in Vancouver, she married Duncan Grant Morrison, who was a teacher. He was born on July 1, 1904, in Sydney, Nova Scotia. His parents were Robert Paterson Morrison and Christena Grant.

In 1957, Mary was living in Olympia, Washington.

Duncan died in Tallahassee, Florida, on November 24, 1968. He was buried in Roselawn Cemetery in Tallahassie.

Mary was still living in 1981.

William and Mary had twin sons, William Grant Morrison and James Robert Morrison. They were born in New Westminster, British Columbia, on October 25, 1939. James died in New Westminster on October 29, 1939. William died in Coquitlam, British Columbia, on December 11, 1939.
