Percival Faulkner King was an optician. He lived at 1819 Robson Street in 1917 and 1918.

Percival Faulkner King was born on April 19, 1877, in Toronto, Ontario. (He was sometimes known as “Percy King” or “Percy F. King.” His middle name sometimes appears as “Falckner.”) Percy’s father was Joseph King (1839-1919), who was a bootmaker. Percy’s mother was Avis Christina Chapman (1852-1903).

In 1881 and 1891, Percy was living with his parents in Toronto.

On December 27, 1899, in Toronto, Percy married Laura Miller. She was born in Ontario about 1881. Her parents were Gilbert Miller and Minnie Hamilton.

In 1901, Percy and Laura were in Brandon, Manitoba, when their first child, Roy, was born.

By 1903, Percy had an optician’s practice in Winnipeg. The family was living at 309 Pritchard Avenue.

In 1906, the King family was in the Norwood Grove area of Winnipeg.

Laura died in Winnipeg on November 12, 1908.

Percy first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1908.

By 1909, Percy was living at 774 Bidwell Street.

On October 16, 1919, in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Percy married Ida Annie Gierkie, who was a telephone operator. She was born in Australia about 1892. Her father was Gustave Geirkie and her mother was Bertha Reinhold.

By 1919, the King family had moved to Seattle, Washington. About this time, Percy obtained a series of patents for inventions, relating to automobile covers, wrenches, and umbrellas.

Percy continued to live in Seattle through the 1920s and into the 1930s.

Percy applied to become a naturalized United States citizen in 1933.

Percy died in Seattle on March 16, 1934.

It appears that Ida died in Washington in 1978.

Percy and Laura had the following children.

 

Roy Faulkner King

Roy Faulkner King was born in Brandon, Manitoba, on August 28, 1901.

In 1906 he was living with his parents in Manitoba. In 1911, he was with his father in Vancouver.

It appears that Roy was living in Seattle in 1930 and 1942, and that he died in Michigan in 1974.

 

Laurine Avis Maud King

Laurine Avis Maud King was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on October 22, 1902.

In 1906 she was living with her parents in Manitoba. In 1911, she was with her father in Vancouver.

On November 8, 1924, in Seattle, she married Arvid W. Anderson, who was born about 1899.

Arvid died in Washington in 1928.

Laurine died on February 13, 1991.

Arvid and Laurine were buried in Acacia Memorial Park, Lake Forest Park, King County, Washington.

 

Mamie Kathleen King

Mamie Kathleen King was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on February 6, 1904.

In 1906 she was living with her parents in Manitoba. In 1911, she was with her father in Vancouver.

On Mary 25, 1933, in King County, Washington, she married Eugene E. Lawrence, who was probably Eugene Edward Lawrence.

Eugene died in California on May 26, 1985.

Mamie died in California on July 4, 1988.
