Kenyon, Thomas (1880-1969)

Thomas Kenyon operated a grocery store at 1875 Beach Avenue in 1920 and 1921. He lived at 1875 Beach Avenue in 1920 and at 1881 Morton Avenue in 1921.

Thomas Kenyon was born on February 14, 1880, in Accrington, Lancashire, England. His father was William Kenyon. His mother was Sarah Ann Taylor.

By about 1907, Thomas had arrived in Canada.

In the 1911 Canada census, Thomas was living in Naramata, British Columbia. He was working as an orchardist.

On June 30, 1915, in Naramata, Thomas married Helen Mabel Crabtree. She was born on April 19, 1881, in Stoke Newington, London, England. Her father was James Crabtree. Her mother was Ellen Bernice Rust.

Thomas enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War.

By 1920 and 1921, he was operating a grocery store at 1875 Beach Avenue in Vancouver. In 1920, he was living at 1875 Beach Avenue. In 1921, he lived at 1881 Morton Avenue.

Thomas and Helen appeared in the 1921 Canada census, living in on Fourth Street in Naramata. Thomas was a fruit farmer.

Thomas continued to work as an orchardist or fruit rancher. He stayed in Naramata through most of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

Thomas and Helen later moved to Vancouver.

Thomas died in Vancouver on May 9, 1969.

Helen died in Vancouver on May 20, 1972.

It appears that Thomas and Helen did not have any children.
