He operated a confectionery business at 1800 Georgia Street from 1919 to 1920. The confectionery was at 1871 Georgia Street in 1921.

 

Family Background

Arthur Edmund Carson was born in 1877, in the village of Hall’s Corners (later called Carsonville) in Bridgehampton Township, Sanilac County, Michigan. (Some sources give Arthur’s birthday as February 4; others say that it was June 3.)

Carsonville is about 50 kilometres north of Sarnia, Ontario, on the Michigan side of Lake Huron.

Arthur’s parents were Arthur Edmund Carson, senior (1820–1886) and Jane Cowan (1849-1904). (Arthur Carson, senior, had been married before, to Martha Crorey (1832-1869).)

In 1901, Jane and her children were still in Toronto. Arthur was working as a coal miner.

On November 1, 1905 in Dundas, Ontario, Arthur married Eva Clara Jarvis. She was born On November 21, 1885, in Morrisburg, Ontario. Her parents were James Thomas Jarvis (1858-1939) and Clara Catherine Merkley (1856–1948).

Arthur did not appear in the Vancouver directories after 1921.

Arthur died in Vancouver on April 8, 1926. He was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Arthur Malcolm Carson was born in Toronto, Ontario on May 4, 1906.

In the 1921 Canada Census, Arthur was living with his grandmother, Clara Jarvis, in Morrisburg, Ontario, along with his brother, Paul, and his sister, Bonnie.

In 1944, in Miami, Florida, Arthur married Viola Mae (Vaun) Hendricks, who was born in 1913.
