In 1943 and 1944, the Canadian Secretary of State and the Custodian of Enemy Property offered 1808 Nelson Street and 1001 Denman Street for sale by tender.The house continued to be available for rent.
The lot later became part of the site of a one-storey retail building.
By 2016, a two-storey retail building was on the property.
