Percival Archibald Woodward was an executive with Woodward’s Stores. He lived at 1069 Denman Street in 1919.

“Mr. P.A.” or “Puggy” Woodward was a son of Charles Woodward (1852-1937) and Elizabeth Anderson (1854-1892).

He was born on December 28, 1888, in Thessalon, Ontario. The family moved to Vancouver in 1891, and Charles Woodward started Woodward’s department store in 1892.

Puggy went to school in Vancouver, and began to work in the family business. About 1912-1914, he married Marion Louise Douglas. She was born on September 12, 1892, in Saskatchewan. Her father was William Mair Douglas (1851-1910); her mother was Marie Anne Henriette (Mary) Webster (1857-1930).

Puggy became the vice president of the Woodward’s enterprise. He retired in 1955. He and other members of the Woodward family donated money to various charities, including a gift to UBC to start the health sciences centre.

Puggy died in Vancouver on August 27, 1968. He was buried in Capilano View Cemetery in North Vancouver.

Marion died on April 13, 1970. She was buried in Capilano View Cemetery in North Vancouver.

Puggy and Marion had one son: William Douglas Woodward. He was born on April 17, 1917, in Indian Head, Saskatchewan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Head,_Saskatchewan). He died on July 6, 1935, in Vancouver. He was buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Burnaby, British Columbia.
