Andrew first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1904. He was living 1028 Nelson Street and working as a travelling sales agent.

To California

By about 1925, Andrew and Nellie had moved to California. Although there is no record showing that Andrew and Nellie were divorced, it appears that they were not living together at the time of the 1930 and 1940 United States censuses.

In 1930, Nellie was in Los Angeles with her son, Herbert.

In 1940, Nellie was in Coronado, California, living with her daughter, Agnes, and Agnes’s husband, Robert H. Taylor.

According to some sources, Andrew and Eva were divorced in 1928. However, the 1930 United States census showed that they were still married and living together in 1930. They were divorced by 1933. (Further information on Eva appears below.)

Eva after Divorce from Andrew

Eva was a talented musician, and for a time she was a piano teacher. Sometime in the 1930s she met David Lytell Hutton, who was the third husband of Aimée Semple Macpherson (1890-1944), a famous Pentecostal evangelist.

David was a singer, radio entertainer and vocal teacher who had married Aimée in Yuma, Arizona in September 1931. Within two years, David filed for divorce, claiming that the gossip about his public life amounted to mental cruelty.
