Thomas Cardain Lamb was born on October 22, 1845, in London, England. His father was also named Thomas Cardain Lamb (1816-1875). It appears that his mother was Jane Matilda Green (born about 1819 in Uxbridge, Middlesex).

Thomas Cardain Lamb, Senior, died in London near the end of 1875.

On January 11, 1879, in Westminster, England, Thomas Cardain Lamb, Junior, married Emily Bastow. She was born in Uxbridge, Middlesex, England about 1852.

Thomas and Emily lived in London through the 1880s and 1890s. Thomas worked as a woollen merchant.

In February 1882, Thomas had to appear in court to face a charge of obtaining goods by fraud.

By April 1882, it became clear that Thomas had acted in good faith, and the court dismissed the charges against him.

In 1885, one of Thomas’s employees was charged with embezzlement.

In 1897, Thomas was still in the woollen business in London.

It appears that Thomas’s wife, Emily, died in London in 1908.

Thomas moved to North America. He first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1911, living at 1801 Beach Avenue, along with his son, Robin.

He lived at the following addresses in Vancouver.

Thomas died in New Westminster, British Columbia, on January 13, 1919. He was buried in New Westminster.

Enid Emily Lamb

Enid Emily Lamb was born in Kingston, Surrey in 1880. In 1881 and 1891 she was living with her parents.

Enid died in London, England, on July 8, 1896. She was buried in Paines Lane Cemetery in Pinner, London Borough of Harrow, Greater London, England.

 

Thomas Cardain Lamb

Thomas Cardain Lamb was born in Strand district, London, in 1882. He died in Croydon, Surrey, in 1886.

 

Allan Douglas Lamb

Allan Douglas Lamb was born in Hendon, Middlesex, on August 12, 1887.

He lived with his parents in England until after 1901. It appears that he went to North America on the Empress of Ireland in June 1906.

In 1907 and 1908, he spent some periods of time in the United States.

In 1911, he was living with his father in Vancouver.

In 1915, he was a customs broker in Prince George, British Columbia.

In 1916, he travelled to Montana in the United States. He described his occupation as “photographer.”

In 1917, he registered with the United States draft system. He was working as a yard clerk with the Oregon Short Line Railroad in Butte, Montana.

Alan did not marry.

Alan contracted influenza and died on November 2, 1918, in Helena, Montana. He was buried in Forestvale Cemetery in Helena.

 

Robin William Lamb

Robin William Lamb was born on March 24, 1892, in Hendon, Middlesex, England.

He lived with his parents until after 1901. By 1910, he had moved to Vancouver, where he worked as a manufacturer’s agent. He roomed at 569 Hamilton Street.

In 1916, Robin went to the United States with his brother, Alan.

In 1931, Robin was the proprietor of Pacific Coast Trading. He was living at 3003 Point Grey Road.

In 1941, he was the director of the merchandising brokerage firm of Orchardson and Company. He was living at 6470 McCleery Street, along with his sister, Margaret Dorothy Lamb.

Robin did not marry.

He died in Vancouver on January 26, 1963.

 

Margaret Dorothy Lamb

Margaret Dorothy Lamb was born in Pinner, Middlesex, on August 15, 1888.

By 1911, she had arrived in Vancouver. She was living with her father at the time of the 1911 Canada census.

In 1921 she was living at 1756 Nelson Street, in the household of Harold Baldwin Boyes. She was working as a stenographer with the Vancouver branch of Dale and Company, a firm of insurance underwriters.

In 1931, she was an operator with McLennan, McFeely and Prior. She was living at 1863 West Eighth Avenue.

In 1941, she was living at 6470 McCleery Street, along with her brother, Robin. She was working with Dale and Company.

Margaret did not marry. She died in Vancouver on November 12, 1977.
