Mary Florence Richardson was married to Peter Frank Richardson. She lived at 1961 Comox Street in 1908.

She was born Mary Florence Heathorn in Victoria, British Columbia, on July 17, 1867. Her father was William Heathorn (1828-1890), who was a bootmaker. Mary’s mother was Mary Claxton Warner (1826-1905).  (Mary’s sister was Harriet Victoria Heathorn, who married Eliot Nixon Haworth. Eliot lived at 1047 Denman Street from 1907 to 1909.)

On January 8, 1890, in Victoria, Mary married Peter Frank Richardson (sometimes called Frank), who was a commission merchant.

Peter was born on February 20, 1861, in Guelph, Ontario. His father was George Richardson (1822-1912). His mother was Helen McLean (1833-1916).

In the late 1880s, Peter was a manufacturer’s agent in Victoria, along with Jerome E. Church (1853-1906).

In the early 1890s, Peter was in partnership with A. Heathorn. They dissolved the partnership in 1891.

Peter first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1897. He was living at 1008 Eveleigh Street, and working as a commercial traveller with G.L. Allen’s wholesale boot and shoe business.

Peter and Mary lived at the following addresses in Vancouver.

1897 to 1901 1008 Eveleigh Street (also Mrs. B.F. [sic] Richardson in 1901)
1902 not listed under Vancouver names (Mary C. Heathorn at 1008 Eveleigh Street)
1903 to 1904 1008 Eveleigh Street
1905 to 1907 1152 Seaton Street
1908 1961 Comox Street (Mrs. P.F. Richardson only)
1909 to 1911 not listed under Vancouver names

In 1901, Peter and Mary were living with Mary’s mother, Mary Heathorn. Their two sons, Francis (“Harrie”) and Cecil, were living with them.

From 1903 to 1907, Peter was working as an insurance agent.

Peter and Mary did not appear in the Vancouver directories after 1908.

When Peter’s and Mary’s son, Frank, travelled to the United States in 1928, he said that Peter was living at 104 Pine Avenue (possibly in Montreal, although the city is not clear):

It is not clear what happened to Peter; it appears that he died before 1943.

In August 1908, Mary became a patient at Essondale hospital in New Westminster. She died at Essondale on June 25, 1943.

Peter and Mary had the following children.

Mary Florence Richardson

Mary Florence Richardson was born in the 1890s, probably in Victoria, British Columbia, although the exact date is not clear. She died in Victoria on November 19, 1895. She was buried in Ross Bay Cemetery in Victoria.

Francis Harry (Harrie) Richardson

Francis Harry (Harrie) Richardson was born in Vancouver on June 27, 1898.

He became an electronics engineer.

On June 10, 1922, in Ottawa, Ontario, he married Rose Mansbridge. She was born in Nagasaki, Japan, in the 1890s (perhaps on August 2, 1894 or in 1898). Her father was George Mansbridge. Her mother was Georgina Mills.

In 1930, Francis and Rose were living in Queens, New York. Francis was a financial writer for a newspaper.

In 1940, Francis and Rose were in Lincoln Town, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Francis was a partner in a brokerage house.

Francis died in Manchester, Coffee, Tennessee, in 1975.

Rose died in Manchester, Coffee, Tennessee, in September 1984.

Francis and Rose had two children: Peter Wentworth Richardson (1924-2012), who had a long air force and aerospace career; and Mary Rose Richardson (later Anderson; later Edelman).

Cecil Roberts Richardson

Cecil Roberts Richardson was born in Vancouver on November 28, 1900. He died in Vancouver on August 6, 1901. He was buried in Ross Bay Cemetery in Victoria.
