Dickey, Frederick (“Fred”) Martin (1882-after 1918)

Frederick (“Fred”) Martin Dickey was a broker. He lived at 748 Gilford Street in 1914 and 1915.

His brother, Hugh Logan Dickey, was a medical doctor who lived at 2001 Nelson Street from 1916 to 1918. Further information on Fred’s and Hugh’s family appears on the page for Hugh Logan Dickey.

Fred was born in Nova Scotia on July 26, 1882. His father was Clement Blair Dickey (1850-1905), who was a merchant. Hugh’s mother was Ada Maud Dickey (1853-1900).

On August 31, 1905, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, he married Mary Helen (or Eleanor) Mcannis. She was born in Nova Scotia in September 1881.

Fred first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1910. He was associated with the Maritime Brokerage Company.

Fred did not appear in the Vancouver directories after 1919. No further information is available for him or for Mary.

Fred and Mary had a son.

 

Clement Dickey

Clement Dickey was born in Nova Scotia in September 1907. In 1911 he was living with Fred and Mary in Vancouver.
