1873 Nelson Street was on the north side of Nelson Street, just east of Gilford Street. It was a large house, with a distinctive domed tower that was typical of houses from the Parr and Fee architectural firm.

[The 1918 Vancouver street directory listed a John Hall at 1873 Nelson Street. It appears that it should have referred to James Edward Hall. There was a John N. Hall associated with the Vancouver Milling and Grain Company, but he lived at 1730 East 41st Avenue in 1918 and 1919.]

In 1918, the house was available to rent for four months.

In the 1920s, the house became a rooming house and apartment house.
