Michel Guinet was a carpenter who lived at 1155 Denman Street in 1905.

Michel Guinet was born in Quebec on November 5, 1845. (Sometimes his first name appears as Mitchell or Michael.) His parents were Michael and Huban Guinet.

On October 4, 1869, in Bradford, Ontario, Mitchell married Mary Elizabeth Davis. She was born on December 7, 1841, in Newmarket, Ontario. Her parents were Job and Mary Ann Davis.

By 1899, “Mitchiel” Guinet was in the New Westminster directory.

The Guinet family first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1904. John Guinet was living at 242 Barnard Street. (In 1911, Barnard Street was renamed Union Street.)

Mary died in Vancouver on June 2, 1925. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Victor Guinet

Victor Guinet was born in Orillia, Ontario on June 1, 1872.

He worked as a cook.

In 1927, he was living in Seattle, Washington, when he applied to become a naturalized United States citizen. He received his citizenship on September 30, 1932.

He did not marry.

He died in Vancouver on June 10, 1936. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

James Edward Guinet

James Edward Guinet was born in Orillia, Ontario on December 22, 1873.

He worked as a building contractor, especially in the Grandview area of Vancouver.

On September 26, 1906, in Vancouver, he married Margaret Isabella McInnes. She was born on May 12, 1884 in Lucknow, Ontario. Her parents were Fergus McInnes and Margaret McKinnon.

On July 10, 1916, he enlisted to serve with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. He was discharged on April 12, 1919 during the demobilization at the end of the war.

James later worked as a real estate salesman and agent. He died in Chilliwack on February 17, 1958. He was buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Chilliwack.

Margaret died in Chilliwack on November 5, 1967.

Allan McInnes Guinet was born in Vancouver in 1911.

He became a lawyer and magistrate.

Michel Guinet

Michel Guinet was born in Barrie, Ontario on July 30, 1876.

He worked as a fisherman and fisheries guardian.

He did not marry.

He died in Bella Bella, British Columbia on December 20, 1949. He was buried in Meadow Island Cemetery in Bella Bella.

 

John Davis Guinet

John Davis Guinet was born in Orillia, Ontario on November 1, 1880.

He worked as a driver and carpenter.

On January 31, 1916, in Vancouver, he enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Force to serve during the First World War. He was discharged from the military forces on April 2, 1919, as part of the general demobilization at the end of the war.

He went to live in Chilliwack, British Columbia, where he worked as a fire warden.

He did not marry.

He died in Chilliwack on July 17, 1934. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Mary J. (“Minnie”) Guinet

Mary J. (“Minnie”) Guinet was born on March 22, 1886, in Bracebridge, Ontario.

On July 30, 1919, in Vancouver, she married Herbert Telfer Brown, who was a realtor. He was born in the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie on February 19, 1886. His parents were Thomas Telfer Brown and Matilda Sarah Willis.

Herbert died in Vancouver on October 11, 1952. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Minnie died in Vancouver on July 28, 1955. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.
