On May 17, 1912, in Vancouver, Chester  married Myrtle Jefferson Mackenzie, who was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick on March 26, 1893. Her parents were Alexander MacKenzie and Elizabeth Glover.

Chester’s and Myrtle’s marriage ended in divorce. Myrtle later married Leonard James, a telegrapher with the Canadian National Railway, who was born in Toronto, Ontario, on September 20, 1880. He died in Vancouver on June 16, 1965. Myrtle died in an accident with a truck on June 1, 1967, on Highway 97, eight miles south of Williams Lake, British Columbia.

In the 1920s and 1930s, Chester operated Pascoe’s wharf, which was on Coal Harbour, at the north end of Denman Street.

In 1917, in Seattle, Washington, Chester registered with the United States military draft system, giving his permanent address as the Barker Hotel in Seattle.

On January 29, 1918, in Bellingham, Washington, Chester married Elizabeth Lottie Edwards, who was born in Erin, Wellington, on December 29, 1894. Her parents were William Edwards and Sarah Jane Miller.

In 1922, Chester claimed ownership of a boat called “Half Moon,” which had been used to transport 163 boxes of Canadian whiskey to the United States. (He claimed that he did not own the whiskey.)

Chester’s and Elizabeth’s marriage ended in divorce. On October 24, 1930, in Whatcom County, Washington, Elizabeth married Lindsay Davison Parke (1888-1969). Elizabeth died in Los Angeles County, California on August 31, 1966.

On September 13, 1933, in Bellingham, Washington, Chester married Florence Abigail Matheson (née Matchett). She was born in Sunny Corner, New Brunswick, on April 11, 1893. Her parents were John Matchett and Isabelle Touchie.

In 1935, the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.; later called the Work Projects Administration) was building public works projects throughout the United States. The projects gave work to many unemployed people who needed jobs during the Depression. One of the projects was the new Marinez Yacht Harbor in San Francisco Bay, east of Oakland.

By November 1935, Chester was in Martinez, where he became the operator of the yacht harbor.

The harbor quickly became successful. In addition to the regular mooring of private boats, the harbor also provided accommodations for sport fishing enthusiasts in the summer months.

In 1939, Chester and Florence travelled to New Brunswick to visit with Florence’s mother. They also went to the New York boat show.

In 1940, the Oakland Tribune featured Chester’s and Florence’s new home in Martinez.

In 1942, Chester registered with the United States military draft system. He was living at 3890 Serrano Street in Martinez, California, and was operating the yacht harbor in Martinez.

In December 1943 a storm damaged much of the harbor. By February 1944 the repairs were underway.

In 1955, Florence sued Chester for divorce.

Chester died on January 12, 1960, in Contra Costa County, California.

Florence died in Butte County, California, on September 30, 1966.

Chester and Elizabeth Edwards had two children: Chester Garfield Pascoe (1918–1988) and June Elaine Pascoe (1923-1970).

 

William John Pascoe, Junior

Chester’s brother, William John Pascoe, Junior, was born on June 7, 1893, in Conconully, Washington.

In 1916 he was working as a customs officer in Vancouver.

On April 10, 1916, in Vancouver, he married Leone Laurier. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, about 1896. Her father was William Robert Laurier, who was a merchant. Her mother was Alice Dora Chameau.

By 1942, William was living in San Jose, California. His nearest relative was Mrs. Juanita Pascoe, who was living with him at 1049 Villa Avenue in San Jose.

William died in San Francisco County, California, on April 18, 1964. He was buried in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma, San Mateo County, California.
