Frank Stead was a long-time soldier. He lived at 1917 Pendrell Street in 1916 and at 1925 Pendrell Street from 1923 to 1934.

Frank Stead was born on February 28, 1881, in Hossforth (Leeds), Yorkshire, England. His parents were Thomas Ballan Stead and Jane Lister.

On October 11, 1911, in Vancouver, he married Ethel Ritchie, who was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 9, 1890. Her father was George Ritchie (1864-1946), a hardware merchant who lived at 1925 Pendrell Street from 1910 to 1934.

Frank died in Vancouver on March 24, 1951. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Ethel died in Vancouver on September 6, 1978. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Frank and Ethel had a son, Dr. Gordon Wilson Stead (1913-1995), who married Lucy Gore.
