Cameron, Allan (1850-1937)

Allan Cameron (sometimes called Allan J. Cameron) was a canneryman and later a timber scaler. He lived at 1155 Denman Street from 1900 to 1902.

Allan was born on June 6, 1850, in Kouchibouguac, New Brunswick [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kouchibouguac,_New_Brunswick]. His father was Alexander Cameron; his mother was Jane Barton.

By 1893, Allan was living in Stillwater, Minnesota.

On June 6, 1893, in Northumberland, New Brunswick, Allan married Mary Johnson Dickson. She was born on April 29, 1860, in Napan, New Brunswick [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napan,_New_Brunswick]. Her father was Jonathan Dickson; her mother was Mary Johnston.

By 1901, Allan and Mary were living in Vancouver. They lived at 1155 Denman Street from 1900 to 1902; Allan was a canneryman [a worker in a cannery or an owner of a cannery].

From 1903 to 1908, they lived at 1161 Harwood Street. Allan was a bookkeeper.

By 1911, Allan and Mary were living at 1504 Semlin Drive. Allan was a real estate contractor.

In 1915, Allan was a branch manager for the Vancouver Sun newspaper.

Allan and Mary appear not to have had any children.

Allan died in Vancouver on January 14, 1937. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mary died in Vancouver on November 21, 1937. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery.
