Rosemary Elizabeth Bandel-Cermak, death notice, Published in Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Aug. 4 to Aug. 6, 2016; http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/vancouversun/obituary.aspx?n=rosemary-elizabeth-bandel-cermak&pid=180931106: Bandel/Cermak, Rosemary Elizabeth Feb 28, 1941 – July 26, 2016 Rosemary died peacefully in St. Paul’s after a brief illness. Predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Elizabeth Hoare and by her late husband, Claude Bandel; she will be sorely missed by her husband, Paul Cermak, her staff and many friends. Her teaching career was cut short by her arthritis. Not to be daunted, she adapted to increasing disability, facing each new challenge. She travelled widely, pursuing diverse interests. A successful real estate career followed. Her love of antiques morphed into opening Da Vinci Galleria. Diverse courses at UBC and Regent College helped appease her lifelong curiosity and desire to learn. Home was her anchor. Her dogs and Persian cats were her “babies”. Special thanks to her caregiver and best friend, Imelda Landicho, and to the other caregivers. Service -Tuesday August 16, 2016 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s (Van) Anglican Church, 5350 Baillie St. (at 37th). Donations to Tetra Society, St. Johns, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.”
