Joseph Carter Moon was a consulting engineer and the superintendent of the gas department of the British Columbia Electric Railway. He appeared at 1961 Comox Street in the 1909 Vancouver street directory.

Joseph Carter Moon was born in England in March 1876, probably in Peterborough, Northamptonshire. His father was probably William James Moon (1836-1894); his mother was probably Eliza Sophia Carter (c. 1834-1898).

Joseph arrived in Vancouver about 1909. From 1909 to 1911, he was the superintendent of the gas department in the British Columbia Electric Railway (BCER). For a time he lived near the Epworth Post Office (also called Cedar Cottage), and near the BCER’s Lakeview Station near Victoria Drive and Stainsbury Avenue in east Vancouver. In 1912 and 1913, he was an engineer with Cecil W. Stancliffe & Company in Vancouver; he continued to work as an engineer until about 1947.

He never married. He died in Vancouver on February 6, 1949. His surviving relatives were a sister, Mrs. Kemp, and a niece, Violet Kemp, of Scotland.
