While George McCuaig was living in the house, he often rented out individual rooms. As well, he sometimes rented the whole house while he and his wife were travelling.

In 1913, he offered the house for sale, but it appears that he did not sell it until about 1918.

In 1938, the house became a rooming house with an address of 1106 Gilford Street. George L. Foerster (1873-1972) and his wife, Sarah Jenetta “Sally” Sirett (1884–1971), lived in the house through the 1940s and 1950s.
