His father was Henry Webb Browning; his mother was Mary Ann White. Herman’s family had a total of 10 children, including William and Florence, who settled in British Columbia along with Herman.

During the First World War, he was a private in an Army Service Corps mechanical transport company from 1915 to 1917; he received a War Service Badge. During the Second World War, Herman was an aeronautical inspector for the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Herman also had several business ventures.

In the early 1920s, Herman and Leslie were living at 43A River Street in Toronto. Herman was an employee of “The Perfect Wind Deflector.”

Herman’s and Leslie’s marriage ended in divorce on January 22, 1936. Herman later moved to the Seymour Creek and Horseshoe Bay areas, north of Vancouver. While he was in Horseshoe Bay, he worked at Marine Realty, specializing in water front property from Vancouver to Squamish, British Columbia.

Leslie lived in an apartment at Granville Street and 14th Avenue in Vancouver. She later married John Miller. Leslie died in White Rock, British Columbia, on January 2, 1989.

Herman died in Vancouver on June 28, 1968.

Herman and Leslie had two children.
