On March 1, 1912, in Whitchurch, Glamorganshire, Wales, he married Sydney Delia Sampson. She was born in Belfast, Ireland, on February 4, 1883. Her parents were Fredrick Sampson (1859-1913) and Margaret Delia Dudley (1859-1932).
To Canada
In May 1912, Robert and Sydney sailed to Canada, along with Sydney’s parents and her brothers and sisters. They travelled on the S.S. Virginian.
They arrived in Quebec City on May 6, 1912; their final destination was Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In Winnipeg
By 1913, Robert had established a pharmacy business in Winnipeg. He was living at number 3, Bieldy Apartments, at 357 Mountain Avenue.
In 1916, Robert and Sydney were still in Winnipeg. They were living at 549 Jubilee Avenue, along with Sydney’s mother, Delia, and Sydney’s brother, Frederick Sampson.
To Vancouver
Robert McCausland first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1918. He was living at 1966 Nelson Street, and he was working for the Owl Drug Company.

Frederick Hubert Robert McCausland was born on June 17, 1917, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In 1921 he was living with his parents in Vancouver.
He married Ivy Maud Hall. She was born in Winnipeg on January 9, 1915. Her parents were Arthur Edwin Hall and Maud Green.
Ivy died in Vancouver on May 24, 1973.
Frederick died in Vancouver on November 16, 2001.
