Donald McLure lived at 2061 Beach Avenue in 1917 and 1918.

John McLure was born in Inverness, Scotland, on August 16, 1887.

He arrived in Canada about 1908.

John died in Vancouver on January 8, 1975.

 

Donald Campbell McLure

Donald Campbell McLure was born in Inverness, Scotland on November 22, 1889. (He was sometimes called “Dan MacLure.”)

He arrived in Vancouver about 1908.

On December 6, 1922, Dan married Olive Edith Mabel Till, who was a nurse. She was born in Dublin, Ireland on October 17, 1894. Her parents were John Newton Till and May Martin.

Dan’s chauffeur business became known as Dan MacLure Taxis Limited. He also had an airport limousine business, a motor boat service and an airline called Pacific Airways.

Olive died in Vancouver on October 8, 1939. She was buried in Ocean View Burial Park.

On October 18, 1941, in Vancouver, Donald married Florence Emma Webster.

Donald died in Vancouver on November 12, 1953.

It appears that Florence was sometimes known as Emma, and that she died in Vancouver on August 8, 1975.
