William Howard Moore was a sawyer with E.H. Heaps and Company and the Reliance Sash and Door Factory. He lived at 1964 Georgia Street from 1910 to 1913.

He may also have lived at 1974 Georgia Street in 1908 and at 1830 Alberni Street in 1909, although the occupations for the William H. Moore at those addresses in 1908 and 1909 are not related to lumber or sawmills.

Early Life

William Howard Moore was born in January 1868, in Gananoque, Ontario. His parents were William Howard and Margaret Moore.

Marriage to Nita Strange

On August 29, 1906, in Vancouver, William married Nita Margaret Strange. She was born on January 19, 1876, in Thorold, Ontario. Her parents were Theodore Strange (1848-1879) and Mary Ann Griffiths.

Theodore Strange was probably born in England about 1848. He may have fought in the United States Civil War, although he would have been very young at the time. Theodore married Mary Ann Griffiths, and the family were in Winnipeg for a short time. They moved to Green Ridge, Manitoba in 1878.

Theodore died in Green Ridge in October 1879.
