Julia Wilmotte Henshaw was a well-known botanist and writer. She also won the Croix de Guerre as an ambulance driver in France during the First World War.
She was married to Charles Grant Henshaw, who was a commercial merchant in Vancouver and a military recruiter during the First World War. They lived at 1833 Haro Street from 1897-1899.
