The 1914 Vancouver Social Register and Club Directory listed Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Holloway at 2046 Beach Avenue.

Mrs. F.W. Holloway was born Mary Shaw Henry in Scotland, about 1864.

On September 17, 1883, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she married Frederick William Holloway.

By 1884 the Holloway family was in the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews, Manitoba.

In 1891 they were living in Morden, Manitoba.

In 1894, Frederick was the manager of the Hudson’s Bay Company store in Morden, Manitoba.

Frederick died in Selkirk, Manitoba, on September 20, 1901.

Frederick was buried in Saint John Anglican Cemetery in Winnipeg.

By 1903, Mary was living in Vancouver. (The directories sometimes described her as “F.W. Holloway, widow, Frederick.”)

Beatrice Maud Holloway

Beatrice Maud Holloway was born in Lower Fort Garry in the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews, Manitoba, on August 22, 1884.

On April 4, 1907, in Vancouver, she married George Alfred Hastings, who was an electrician. He was born in Liverpool, England, on February 15, 1880. His parents were Joseph Buckley Hastings and Matilda Sophia Croker.

In 1910, George and Beatrice were living in Port Washington, in Washington State. George was a marine engineer.

In 1920, George and Beatrice were in Bremerton, Washington, along with their sons, James and Frederick. George was a shop superintendent in a navy yard.

Beatrice died on May 9, 1920. She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton, Washington.

On December 16, 1921, in King County, Washington, George married Minnie Belle Keas. George and Minnie lived in the Bremerton area in 1930 and 1940.

George died in 1963. He was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton, Washington.

 

Mary Elizabeth Neville Holloway

Mary Elizabeth Neville Holloway was born in Lower Fort Garry in the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews in Manitoba, on February 6, 1886.

On November 18, 1915, in Vancouver, she married James Taylor Lee, who was a civil engineer and land surveyor. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on December 1, 1880. His parents were John Bethune Walker Lee and Adelaide Elizabeth Cook.

Mary died in Victoria, British Columbia, on July 12, 1960.

James died in Victoria on February 18, 1964.

 

Alice Louise Holloway

Alice Louise Holloway was born in South Dufferin, Manitoba, on September 25, 1887.

She did not marry.

She died in Vancouver on June 2, 1975.

 

Henry Shaw Holloway

Henry Shaw Holloway was born in the Rural Municipality of Stanley in Manitoba on May 30, 1894.

On July 17, 1925, in Victoria, British Columbia, he married Berita Gwendolyn Roach. She was born in New Westminster, British Columbia on September 14, 1898. Her parents were Reginald George Roach and Jennie Fraser.

Henry died in Vancouver on May 14, 1945.

Berita died in Vancouver on April 24, 1984.

 

Frederick Neville Holloway

Frederick Neville Holloway was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, on

On March 17, 1928, in Vancouver, he married May Jones. She was born in Hull, England. Her parents were Frederick Jones and Elizabeth Alice French. This marriage ended in divorce in Vancouver on October 7, 1940.

Frederick worked as a department manager for MacMillan Bloedel Company.

Frederick died in Vancouver on December 14, 1953.
