By 1920, “L. Bragis” was operating the Robson Confectionery; he was living at 904 Robson Street.
In 1925 and 1926, “Xenephon Bragis” had a confectionery at 652 Kingsway.
It appears that this person was Xenophon Brigis, who was born in Greece on March 2, 1883. His mother was Mariha Agrin.
He lived in Washington State from 1909 to 1913.
On September 8, 1920, in Snohomish County, Washington, Xenophon married Ora (Oraine) Demeson. She was born in Tripoli, Greece on December 6, 1897.
In early 1924, Xenophon and Ora “Bragis” attempted to enter the United States at Bellingham, Washington. Xenophon said that he was 40, and that he had been born in Greece. Ora was 25, and she was also born in Greece. The United States authorities would not let them enter the country.
Xenophon and Ora later lived in Calgary and Lethbridge, Alberta and St Catharines, Ontario. They operated a restaurant for much of the time.
Xenophon died on October 28, 1950. He was buried in Victoria Lawn Cemetery in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Ora died on September 17, 1971. She was buried in Victoria Lawn Cemetery in St. Catharines.
Ora’s estate was involved in litigation relating to municipal tax assessments. The courts found in favour of the municipality.
Xenophon and Ora had the following children.
