Albert Ernest McGraw was born on January 21, 1886, in Castana, south of Sioux City, Iowa. His parents were Thomas Frank McGraw and Luella Martin.
In 1900 he was living with his parents in Williams, North Dakota.
To Vancouver
Albert first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1905. He was living at 1062 Westminster Avenue (later called Main Street), and he was working as a clerk.

Marriage to Myrtle Ford
On April 10, 1905, in Vancouver, Albert married Myrtle Lulu Ford, a dressmaker who had also been living at 1062 Westminster Avenue.
Myrtle was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, on September 25, 1880 (although one source says 1885).
Life in Vancouver
In the 1911 Canada census, Albert and Myrtle were living at Hastings Townsite. Albert was working as a sash and door manufacturer.
It appears that the sash and door business was not successful. In 1912, Albert assigned his property to Harry J. Perrin, who was to distribute the proceeds of the property to Albert’s creditors.
To Ontario
In 1917, Albert registered with the United States military draft system. He gave his permanent address as Detroit, Michigan. He was living with Myrtle at Ojibway, Ontario, and he was working as a civil engineer with the Canadian Steel Corporation Limited.
According to the 1921 Canada census, Albert and Myrtle became naturalized Canadian citizens about 1919. However, the Canadian naturalization record indicates that Albert did not take his oath of allegiance until Octoberr 21, 1921.
At the time of the 1921 Canada census, Albert and Myrtle were living in Chatham, Ontario. Albert was a civil engineer.
Society and Later Life
Until the mid-1950s, Albert was a member of the Royal Arch Masons, chapter 80, in Ontario.
Myrtle died in Nelson, British Columbia, on March 14, 1962. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Trail, British Columbia.
Albert died in Columbia, Oregon, on September 7, 1966. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Trail.
It appears that Albert and Myrtle did not have any children.
