Fleming, Hugh Lindsay (1881-1961)

Hugh Lindsay Fleming was a contractor. He lived at 1048 Denman Street in 1913 and 1914, and at 1054 Denman Street in 1915 and 1916.

He was born on March 24, 1881, in Tranent, Scotland. His parents were Hugh Philp Fleming and Mary Lindsay.

In 1930 and 1940, he was living in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Alice. Alice was born in Michigan State, possibly on January 18, 1872.

Hugh was living in Portland, Oregon, in 1958. It appears that he died in San Diego County, California, on April 17, 1961.

It appears that Alice died in San Mateo, California on December 23, 1957.

Hugh had several siblings, some of whom lived in Vancouver for a time.

 

Linnie Agnes Fleming

Linnie Agnes Fleming was born in Prestonpans, Scotland, on June 4, 1883. On July 21, 1914, in Vancouver, she married John Purse. He was born in Paisley, Scotland, on July 7, 1882. John died in North Vancouver on January 6, 1953. He was buried in Capilano View Cemetery in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Linnie died in West Vancouver, British Columbia, on February 18, 1958.

 

Stanley Philp Fleming

Stanley Philp Fleming was born on September 13, 1888, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He worked as an accountant. He moved to Seattle, Washington, and became a United States citizen. During the First World War, he enrolled with the United States military.

On September 5, 1929, in Thurston County, Washington, he married Helen Swope, who was born in Wisconsin about 1896.

By 1940, he was the president of a steamship company. He and Helen were living in Portland, Oregon,

By 1958, Stanley was living in San Diego, California. He died in San Diego on November 15, 1963.

Stanley died in San Diego, California, on November 15, 1963.

 

Mary Lindsay Fleming

Mary Lindsay Fleming was born on September 23, 1890, in Scotland. She married Charles Whitehead Addison, who worked for a stevedoring company; he was born in Scotland on February 12, 1878. He died on September 27, 1929.

Mary died in Vancouver on October 29, 1976.

 

Fred William Fleming

Fred William Fleming was born in Scotland about 1884. He was married to Dorothy, and was living in Three Hills, Alberta, in 1928 and 1934.

He was living in Calgary, Alberta, in 1958.

He may have died in 1962.
