Thomas McCue was a laborer for the City of Vancouver. He lived at the rear of 847 Park Road in 1913. (Sometimes his surname appears as “Keogh.”)

Thomas McCue was born in Coatbridge, east of Glasgow, Scotland on February 20, 1867.

In 1881 and 1891 he was living in Darlington, Durham, England.

He married Catherine Kelly, who was born in Darlington. (The marriage appears to have been in Darlington in 1893). Catherine was born on October 17, possibly around 1870. Her parents were Patrick Kelly and Mary Mckeown.

Thomas travelled to Canada about 1910. Catherine and the rest of the family went to Canada shortly afterward.

Thomas first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1911. He was living at number 4, 858 East Hastings Street, and working as a labourer.

In February 1916, Thomas enlisted to serve with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. He was a sapper with the Fourth Army Troops Company of Canadian Engineers. In 1919 he was discharged during the general demobilization.

After the war, Thomas resumed his employment with the City of Vancouver. In 1922 he was a foreman with the Vancouver City Parks Board. In the 1920s and early 1930s he was a pipefitter with the parks board. He retired about 1935.

Catherine died in Vancouver on September 30, 1953. (The British Columbia archives index gives her last name as “Keogh”.) She was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Thomas died in Vancouver on January 31, 1962. He was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby.

Ellen (“Nellie”) McCue

Ellen McCue was born in Darlington, Durham on

On July 15, 1919, in Vancouver, she married George Rankin Fleming, who was a machinist. He was born in Milngavie, northwest of Glasgow, Scotland, on January 28, 1900. His parents were William Fleming and Jean (“Genie”) Rankin.

George later worked as a truck driver for B.C. Hydro.

George died in Vancouver on October 24, 1971. He was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Ellen died in Vancouver on October 13, 1986. She was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby.

 

Thomas Francis McCue

Thomas Francis McCue was born in England on October 5, 1903.

He worked as a butcher.

On February 6, 1932, in Vancouver, he married Julia Cadillac, who was a sales clerk with Woolworth’s department store. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on February 9, 1910. Her parents were Stephen (“Steve”) Cadillac (1885-1925) and Pauline Walchuck (or Walters) (1882-1950).

Thomas died in Essondale, British Columbia, on March 21, 1966. She was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Julia died in Vancouver on July 17, 1977. She was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby.

 

George Edward McCue

George Edward McCue was born in England in January 1903.

He worked as a general laborer.

He never married.

He died in Vancouver on May 2, 1965. He was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia.

 

Margaret Helen McCue

Margaret (“Maggie”) Helen McCue was born in Darlington, Durham, in 1910.

On February 3, 1940, in Vancouver, she married Angus (“Gus”) Joseph Pitts, who was a laborer. He was born in Vancouver on October 12, 1906. His parents were Angus Pitts and Mary Ann Gillis.

Angus died in New Westminster, British Columbia, on February 5, 1986. He was buried in Port Coquitlam Cemetery in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Margaret died on February 28, 2008. She was buried in Port Coquitlam Cemetery.

 

Kathleen (“Katie”) May McCue

Kathleen May McCue was born in Vancouver on April 23, 1914.

She married Roland Arthur Carlson. who was a machinist. He was born in West Vancouver, British Columbia, on September 6, 1916. His parents were Stephen Herbert Carlson and Gertrude Cecile Westland.

Kathleen died in Vancouver on September 16, 1991.

Roland died in Vancouver on March 2, 1993.
