Hugh Myddleton Wood was a Catholic Apostolic clergyman. He lived at 1934 Barclay Street in 1902.

Hugh Myddleton Wood was born on December 31, 1848, in Brentford, London, England. His parents were Alexander Wood and Ellen Booker.

Hugh moved to Canada about 1868. He was a logger and a farmer in Ontario.

By about 1871 he had married Louisa Elizabeth Brisley. She was born in London, England, on October 11, 1850. Her parents were William Brisley and Ann Shelton.

By the late 1890s Hugh was active as an evangelist. He preached in Ontario, in the northern United States, and in western Canada.

In 1900 Hugh was giving public addresses in Vancouver.

He first appeared in the Vancouver directories, in 1901. He was living at 1159 Haro Street.

By about 1906 he was living on the North Arm of Burrard Inlet. He later moved back to Vancouver.

Louisa died in Vancouver on March 11, 1937. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Hugh died in Vancouver on September 6, 1937. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Alexander Myddleton Wood

Alexander Myddleton Wood was born in Toronto, Ontario, on May 30, 1872.

On October 25, 1899, in Victoria, British Columbia, he enlisted with the Canadian Services Special Forces to serve in the war in South Africa. He later obtained a Queen’s Medal with four clasps for his services at Paardeberg, Driefontein, Johannesburg and Cape Colony.

Because of his military service, he received district lot 2048 in the municipality of North Vancouver.

He later developed tuberculosis, and he died in Vancouver on July 27, 1906.

Louise Ellen Wood

Louise Ellen Wood was born in Kingston, Ontario, on July 20, 1880.

She married John Eades Ward, who was a realtor and military veteran. He was born in Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorkshire, on December 24, 1878. His parents were Thomas Ward and Ellen Eades.

In 1914, John and Louise appeared in the Vancouver society directory.

John died in Vancouver on April 18, 1940. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Louise died in West Vancouver, British Columbia, on January 9, 1972. She was buried in Capilano View Cemetery in West Vancouver.

 

Mary Julia Wood

Mary Julia Wood was born in Tay Township, Simcoe County, Ontario, on December 12, 1884.

She never married.

She died in Vancouver on August 23, 1970. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

 

Katie Winnifred Wood

Katie Winnifred Wood was born in Toronto, Ontario, on January 18, 1889.

On April 7, 1913, in San Francisco, California, she married George Noel Joy. He was a manager of Pither and Leiser, who were wholesale dealers of wines, liquors and cigars. He was born in Ireland on December 22, 1881. His parents were Robert Joy and Elizabeth Hayes.

In 1920 George was involved in a lawsuit involving an agreement of sale of land. The outcome of the dispute is not available.

In 1921, George and Katie were living in Vancouver. George was the secretary of a lumber company.

George died in Vancouver on February 3, 1951.

Katie died in Vancouver on November 2, 1969.
