Campbell, William Thomas (1867-1944)

William Thomas Campbell was a retail clothing merchant. He lived at 1935 Comox Street from 1901 to 1907.

He was born in Orillia, Simcoe County, Ontario on March 20, 1867. His parents were Robert T. Campbell and Frances Selina Monck.

William married Charlotte (“Lottie”) Hunt. She was born on April 20, 1879, in Sinclair Township, Muskoka, Ontario. Her father was George Henry Hunt (1839-1938); her mother was Elizabeth French (1840-1913). In her teens, Lottie was a singer and actor in local stage productions.

William first appeared in the Vancouver directories about 1898. He was a clerk, and he was boarding with Samuel Kerfoot at 319 Georgia Street. By 1899, he was living at 710 Seymour, and was working for Johnston, Kerfoot & Company.
