Mrs. F. Parker lived at 1823 Comox Street in 1918.

It appears that she was Sarah Mary Parker, the widow of Frederick William Edwards Parker.

Mary Sarah Parker was born Mary Sarah Sasse in England on December 20, 1844. Her father was John Sasse (1815-1886), who was a baker. It appears that her mother was Mary Anne Holder.

In 1867, Mary married Frederick Williams Edwards Parker. He was born in Bangalore, Indies (some sources say Australia) on October 28, 1836. His parents were William B. and Lydia Parker.

By 1881, the Parker family was living in London, Ontario.

Frederick Parker first appeared in the Vancouver directory in 1889.

In 1891, Frederick was a clerk with the Canadian Pacific Railway. He continued to work for the C.P.R. until the early 1900s.

Frederick died in Vancouver on August 12, 1903. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Mary continued to live in Vancouver until after the First World War. She died in Vancouver on December 30, 1922. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Mary and Frederick had the following children.

 

Charles Frederick Parker

Charles Frederick Parker was born in the East Indies about 1868. In 1881 he was a telegraph operator in London, Ontario.

 

Frederick John Parker

Frederick John Parker was born in England about 1871. In 1881, he was living with his parents in London, Ontario.

 

Matilda Maud Mary Parker

Matilda Maud Mary Parker was born in England on August 24, 1872 (or 1873).

In 1881 she was living with her parents in London, Ontario.

In 1891, she and her parents were living in Vancouver.

On November 19, 1899, in Vancouver, she married Richard Arthur Sheppard, who was an accountant. He was born on January 19, 1864 (or 1865), in Burnley, England. His parents were John and Mary Ann Sheppard.

Matilda died in Vancouver on June 2, 1936. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Richard died in Vancouver on December 12, 1943. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

 

Edith Clara Parker

Edith Clara Parker was born in Ontario on November 8, 1878.

In 1881 she was living with her parents in London, Ontario.

In 1891 and 1901, she was in Vancouver with her parents.

On April 3, 1909, in Vancouver, she married James Douglas Magee, who was a timber merchant. He was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, on April 17, 1861. His father was Hugh Magee (1826-1909), one of Vancouver’s earliest farmers. James’s mother was Isabella Crawford.

James died in Vancouver on March 8, 1934. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Edith died in Vancouver on May 7, 1944. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

 

Reginald Vincent Parker

Reginald Vincent Parker was born on March 24, 1881, in London, Ontario.

From 1881 to 1901 he lived with his parents.

On March 19, 1907, in Vancouver, he married Grace Winnifred Hicklingten. She was born in London, England, on March 8, 1886. Her parents were John Knights Hicklington and Emma Martha Mallows.

Grace died in West Vancouver, British Columbia, on February 9, 1950. She was buried in Capilano View Cemetery in West Vancouver.

Reginald died in Vancouver on June 13, 1964. He was buried in Capilano View Cemetery in West Vancouver.

 

Florence J. Parker

Florence J. Parker was born in Ontario on March 12, 1883.

She lived with her parents in Vancouver in 1891 and 1901. She was living in Vancouver in 1910 when she was a witness at the wedding of her sister, Constance.

 

Constance Margaret Parker

Constance Margaret Parker was born in London, Ontario, on September 24, 1885.

In 1891 and 1901 she was living with her parents in Vancouver.

On April 14, 1910, in Vancouver, she married Arthur David Drummond, who was a broker and farmer. He was born in Nainital, India, on October 13, 1866. His father was Robert Andrew John Drummond (1820-1887); his mother was Anna Maria Reade (born about 1839 in St. Pancras, Middlesex; she died in 1871). Arthur’s brother was Herbert Charles Drummond, who lived at 1960 Robson Street from 1913 to 1938. Further information on the Drummond family appears on the page for Herbert Charles Drummond.

Arthur died in Victoria, British Columbia, on October 9, 1942.

Constance died in Victoria on December 7, 1958.

 

Marion Ellen Parker

Marion Ellen Parker was born in London, Ontario, on May 10, 1887.

In 1891 and 1901 she was living in Vancouver with her parents.

She died in Vancouver on August 22, 1906.

He resided at 1430 Upper Terrace Avenue, Uplands. Surviving are his widow and three brothers, two in England and one in Vancouver. He was born in Nanatal [sic], India, the son of Hon. Robert A.J. Drummond and grandson of the eighth Viscount Strathallan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 3:30 pm. From McCall Bros. Funeral Chapel, Rev. H. St. J. Payne officiating.”
