Chambers, Charles Henry (1866-1935)

Charles Henry Chambers was a solicitors managing clerk and a lawyer, who lived at 1801 Beach Avenue from 1911 to 1914.

He was born in Woolwich, Kent, England, in June 1866. His father was Charles Chambers, who was born in Woolwich about 1840. His mother’s name was Emma (possibly Hurford or Huxford).

In March quarter, 1895, Charles Henry Chambers married Alice Ada Clarke. She was born in West Bromwich, Worcestershire, England, on June 15, 1872. Her father was Arthur Clarke. Charles and Alice stayed in England until they came to Vancouver about 1910. Charles was a solicitors managing clerk while he was in England; he kept the same profession when he arrived in Vancouver. He was the manager of the law firm of David, Marshall, Macneill and Hugh (Edward Pease Davis; David Gordon Marshall; Chester Benjamin Macneill; and John Silas Wynn Pugh).

Charles died in Vancouver on January 14, 1935. He was buried in Ocean View Burial Park.

Alice died in Vancouver on October 29, 1948. She was buried in Ocean View Burial Park.

Charles Henry Chambers and Alice Ada Clarke had two sons.

Leslie Charles Chambers

Leslie Charles Chambers was born on November 8, 1895 in ???, England. He was a ???. On ???, he married Doris Emily Gibbons. She was born on November 13, 1895 in ???, England.

Leslie was a manager with Swift Canadian. He died on August 19, 1979, in New Westminster, British Columbia.

Doris died on January 9, 1980, in New Westminster, British Columbia.

Leslie Charles Chambers and Doris Emily Gibbons had four children, although one child died in infancy.

Unnamed boy, who died on August 13, 1927.

Richard (Dick) Chambers, who was married to Marie.

Joan Chambers, who was married to John (Jack) House.

Elizabeth Chambers, who was married to Rex Ingalls

John Eric Chambers

John Eric Chambers was born on August 15, 1903, in Swanlea, Kent, England. On December 19, 1928, in Vancouver, he married Mary Evelyn Clemens. She was born on July 27, 1903, in Nakusp, British Columbia. He was an insurance adjuster.

He died on February 25, 1972, in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Mary died on September, 1973, in White Rock, British Columbia.
