Early Life
John Wickham Barnes was born in England between 1888 and 1892. His father (also named John Wickham Barnes) was a physician and surgeon, who was born at Bath, England, in 1830. He died in London, England, on October 12, 1899.
John Junior’s mother was Lucy Jenkins (1859-1944). Lucy may have been married to John Wickham Barnes, the physician, although there is little evidence to confirm this.
John Wickham Barnes, Senior was married for the first time on June 25, 1853, to Eliza Violett (born about 1835 in Cambridgeshire). She was a daughter of John Walter Violett (probably 1804-1836), who was a solicitor in Yatton, Somerset.
Eliza appears to have died sometime before 1881. John Wickham Barnes later had three children with Lucy Jenkins.
After John Wickham Barnes died in 1899, Lucy married Henry George. Lucy moved to Canada; she died in Victoria, British Columbia on August 11, 1944.
Marriage to Mary Postill
On August 1, 1916, in New Westminster, British Columbia, John Wickham Barnes, Junior married Mary Postill. She was born on February 16, 1892 in Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Her parents were Alfred Postill (1853-1897) and Eleanor Armour Jamieson (1865-1954).
Later Life
John Wickham Barnes died on July 9, 1974. He was buried in Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster.
Mary died in New Westminster on January 15, 1983. She was buried in Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster.

John Wickham Barnes was born in Vancouver on June 14, 1917.
He studied music and he became a producer with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
In 1945, he married Martha Janet Roe. Her parents were Robert Douglas Roe (1899-1972) and Kathleen Blanche Knowlton (1901-1976). Robert Roe was a timber commissioner.
John died in Toronto, Ontario on August 8, 1988.
Guy Wickham Barnes
Guy Wickham Barnes was born in Vancouver on August 11, 1918.
He was a physician who had a long career in anaesthetics.
He married Helen Keith Hudson.
He died in Vancouver on May 27, 2014.
Ernest Wickham Barnes (brother of John Wickham Barnes)
John Wickham Barnes had a brother named Ernest Wickham Barnes, who was born in England on September 12, 1889.
On March 15, 1913, in Toronto, Ontario, he married Laura Knowles Mowat. She was born about 1893. Her parents were Thomas K. Mowat and Margaret Alden.
Ernest died in White Rock, British Columbia, on December 1, 1967.
