Lockhart, William Eric (1893-1917)

William Lockhart was a civil engineer who lived at 1915 Pendrell Street in 1914.

It appears that he was William Eric Lockhart, who was born on March 8, 1893, in Newcastle, Ontario. If so, his father was William Thomas Lockhart (1839-1900), a grain merchant and member of the Ontario legislature from 1890 to 1894. William Eric Lockhart’s mother was Mary Renwick (1856-1935).

William Thomas Lockhart was born in Smith, in Peterborough County, Ontario on November 29, 1839. He died in Bowmanville, Ontario, on June 4, 1900.

The Toronto General Trusts Corporation was the executor of the estate.

 

William Eric Lockhart

William Eric Lockhart was born in Newcastle, Ontario on March 8, 1893.

In 1901 and 1911, he was living with his mother in Newcastle.

In 1914, a William Lockhart was living at 1915 Pendrell Street in Vancouver. He was a civil engineer.

On January 21, 1915, William Eric Lockhart enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Force to serve during the First World War.

He served first with the Canadian Engineers and later with the Royal Flying Corps. He was killed in action on June 12, 1917. He was buried in Aire Communal Cemetery in Pas de Calais, France.
