Leonard Wilfred Bailey was a grocer. He lived at 2032 Beach Avenue in 1904 and 1906.

He was born on Mary 4, 1880, in Greenwich, England. His father was Edward Thomas Bailey (1838-1893); his mother was Mary Jane Marchant.

Leonard arrived in Vancouver about 1903, along with his brother, Herbert Stanger Bailey. He established a grocery business at 909 Georgia Street; Herbert was a bookkeeper for the business.

On January 12, 1904, Leonard married Margaret May McEwen. She was born on January 12, 1878, in Simcoe County, Ontario. Her father was Neil McEwen (about 1842-1898); her mother was Rosina Gardner (1848-1921).

In 1938, Leonard and Margaret were living at 3328 Wellington Street in Vancouver. Leonard’s occupation was “salesman.”

About 1939, Leonard and Margaret moved to Gibson’s Landing, British Columbia. They continue to live there throughout the 1940s. In 1945, Leonard was a salesman for Rawleigh’s Products, a company that sold a line of home remedies, seasonings and spices, flavorings and extracts.

Margaret died in Vancouver on September 24, 1950. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.
