John died in Terrace on March 30, 1953. He was buried in Vancouver (possibly in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby).

It appears that John and Evelyn did not have any children.

Jean Ferguson Stothart

Although the information is unclear, John may also have had another relationship. The death record for Jean Ferguson Widman originally said that she was the widow of John Wynne Wilson (although this was later corrected to say that her husband was Gunnar Ferdinand Widman).

Jean Ferguson Stothart was born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick, on November 10, 1896. Her father was John Stothart. Her mother was Anne Kavanaugh.

Jean married Gunnar Ferdinand Widman in Vancouver on April 5, 1930. He was born in Sweden on July 9, 1886. Jean and Gunnar later separated. Gunnar died in Vancouver on June 13, 1963.

Jean died in Vancouver on January 29, 1971.
