John Justin Healy was an accountant with the Yukon Telegraph Company and Dominion Government Telephones. He lived at 1844 Barclay Street from 1902 to 1905 and at 1844 Comox Street in 1908 and 1909.

John Justin Healy was born on December 14, 1868 in Toronto, Ontario. His parents were William Healy and Ellen McCarthy.

On June 3, 1896, in Owen Sound, Ontario, John married Margaret Mary Coupland. She was born in Toronto, Ontario, on January 20, 1867. Her parents were Thomas Coupland and Margaret Owen.

John and Margaret were in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, in 1897 and 1899, when their two older daughters were born.

John first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1900. He was a forwarding agent for Yukon Telegraph, and he was living on Bidwell Street near Beach Avenue.

By 1921, John had become an accountant with the federal Public Works Department. He retired about 1935.

Margaret died in West Vancouver on August 14, 1942.

About 1943, John married Alice Jessie Glencross Herbert, who was born in Cardiff, Wales, on September 14, 1875. Alice had previously been married to Bernard Cuddon Palmer (1875-1936), who was a prominent architect in Vancouver.

John died in Vancouver on January 11, 1958. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Alice died in North Vancouver, British Columbia, on April 8, 1963. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

John and Margaret had the following children.

 

Margaret Louise Healy

Margaret Louise Healy was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on May 27, 1897.

On April 27, 1923, in Vancouver, Margaret married Benjamin Crann. He was born in Scotland about 1898. His parents were William Crann and Janet Craig Arneil.

Benjamin died in Washington State on April 30, 1965. He was buried in Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, Washington.

Margaret died in Washington State on October 18, 1969. She was buried in Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood.

 

Agnes Coupland Healy

Agnes Coupland Healy was born on March 9, 1899, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

She worked as a school teacher.

On April 22, 1925, in Vancouver, Agnes married Sydney Anderson, who was a civil engineer. He was born in Kirkland, Washington, on September 2, 1896. His parents were William Anderson and Catherine Jones.

Sydney died in Vancouver on May 29, 1948. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Agnes died in Vancouver on May 29, 1986. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Agnes and Sydney had a daughter, Peggy Catherine Anderson, who was born in Vancouver on April 17, 1926. She died in Vancouver on May 24, 1926.

 

Eleanor Justine Healy

Eleanor Justine Healy was born in Vancouver on September 12, 1907.

She worked as a bookkeeper.

On July 31, 1936, in South Westminster, British Columbia, she married Colin D. Campbell, who was a salesman. He was born in Bruce Mines, Ontario on April 17, 1911. His parents were Kenneth Campbell and Martha Knight.

Colin became vice president of Pemberton Securities.

Colin died in Saanichton, British Columbia, on June 6, 1992. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Eleanor died in Saanichton on August 14, 1996. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

Healy, Angus Avenue, became the bride of Mr. Bennie Crann, son of the late Mr. William Crann and Mrs. Crann, of this city, at a charming ceremony held in Chalmers Church on Friday evening. The church was beautifully decorated with spring flowers and palms, apple blossoms predominating and the service was reed by Rev. E. McGougan. The service was fully choral and during the signing of the register Mr. Barlow rendered Mendelssohn’s Wedding March. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in ivory satin, her wedding veil as held in place with orange blossoms and she carried a mid-Victorian bouquet of Ophelia roses and lilies-of-the-valley, tied with streamers of white satin ribbon. Miss Agnes Healy, as maid of honor, wore a costume of pink Dresden taffeta and picture hat to match. Miss Justine Healy, sister of the bride, and Miss Edith Healy, of Winnipeg, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids . . ..”
