In 1923, she was a bridesmaid for Helen Cameron.
On November 20, 1928, Dorothy moved to the United States.
On July 9, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, she married Eugene Stirling. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa. This marriage ended in divorce in 1947 in Long Beach, California.
In 1953, Dorothy became a naturalized United States citizen.
In 1961, she ran an employment agency in Long Beach.
About 1964, in Virginia City, Nevada, she married Albert Alexander Grant. He was born in Massachusetts in 1908. This marriage ended in divorce in Los Angeles, California in January 1969. Albert died in California on November 2, 1985.
Dorothy died in California on July 4, 1984.
Harold Sneath Whalen
Harold Sneath Whalen was born in Toronto, Ontario on February 9, 1904.
In 1911 and 1921 he was living with his parents in Vancouver.
In 1927, he was working as an electrical operator in Ocean Falls, British Columbia.
On July 23, 1927, in Ocean Falls, he married Mary Yarmollick (Yarmoluk). She was born in Edmonton, Alberta, about 1906. Her parents were Fred and Bessie Yarmollick.
On June 27, 1931, in Penticton, British Columbia, Harold married Marjorie Jean Hayward (who was often called “Jean”). She was born in Revelstoke, British Columbia on October 25, 1908. Her parents were Arthur Edward Hayward and Reba Laing.
Jean died in Nanaimo, British Columbia on September 5, 1981.
Harold died in Nanaimo on June 25, 1990.
Millicent May Whalen
Millicent May Whalen was born in Vancouver on January 7, 1906 (although her death certificate says 1907).
She worked as a stenographer.
On August 17, 1933, in Vancouver, she married William Sinclair Lawson, who was an airplane pilot. He was born in Ireland on October 4, 1899 (or 1894). His parents were Simon Sinclair Lawson and Rachel Culley.
Millicent died in Vancouver on November 14, 1961.
William died in Vancouver on June 21, 1990.
John Frederick Whalen
John Frederick Whalen was born in Vancouver on September 8, 1907.
On June 5, 1932, in Victoria, British Columbia, he married Eleanor Glen Arnold, who was a stenographer. She was born in Vancouver about 1909. Her parents were Charles Sydney Arnold and Pearlie Jane Squarebriggs. This marriage ended in divorce in New Westminster, British Columbia on May 19, 1939.
On September 27, 1942, in Armstrong, British Columbia, John married Violet Isabel Horn. She was born in Armstrong on September 29, 1915. Her parents were Reginald Sydney Horn and Alice Roza Grimwade.
John died in North Vancouver, British Columbia on December 19, 1983.
Violet died in North Vancouver on June 25, 1985.
Eleanor Frances Elizabeth Whalen
Eleanor Frances Elizabeth Whalen was born in Vancouver on March 28, 1909. (She was often called “Frances.”)
On March 15, 1930, in Vancouver, she married Melvin William Bromley (1906-1975), who was a salesman. He was born in Kansas on April 19, 1906. His parents were Herrick (Harry) Bromley and Anna May McMullen. It appears that this marriage ended in divorce.
In 1938, she married Royal Clegg Peacock (1905-1979). (He was often known as “Roy C. Peacock.”) He was born in Seattle on April 12, 1905. His parents were Richard W. Peacock and Amy Clegg.
In the 1960s, Frances and Roy were in Whittier, California.
Frances died in Los Angeles, California on February 21, 1975.
Roy died on April 14, 1979 in Santa Monica, California.
Eunice Esther Whalen
Eunice Esther Whalen was born in Vancouver on April 28, 1914.
On July 16, 1938, in Vancouver, she married Jack Heys, who was a tea and coffee merchant. He was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario on May 15, 1912. His parents were Thomas Heys and Daisy E. King.
This marriage ended in divorce on May 26, 1949 in Vancouver.
Eunice later married Edwin M. Petterson. He died in Whitter, California on December 25, 1961.
On November 29, 1970 in Orange County, California, Eunice married Carl C. Wilson, who was born about 1906.
Eunice died on December 8, 2002 on Bainbridge Island, Washington.

She was born April 28, 1914, in Vancouver, BC, daughter of Jack and Mary Sneath Whalen. Following graduation from high school in 1932, Noni worked for the Hudson ‘ s Bay Co. and later for American Can Co., both in Vancouver. In 1947 she moved to Southern California and continued her career at Chevron Research in La Habra. She retired after 25 years as a research associate, and moved to San Diego in the mid-1980s to be close to her beloved niece, Linda Christian. In 2000, she moved to Bainbridge Island to be close to her son, Paul Heys and daughter-in-law Linda. Noni’s love of the water and boats was passed on to her grandsons, Michael and Graeme, who both became captains and are presently cruising the waters of the world. Of her many interests, poetry ranked at the top throughout her life. Even at age 88, she could recite page after page of the great poets. At her request, there will be no services.”
