The builders did proceed to build the Pendrell Street house. From 1924 to 1928, Joseph Hodgson was at living at 2090 Pendrell Street.

Wrigley Henderson Amalgamated BC Directory, 1924, page 864 [edited image].

However, it appears that the two proposed houses on Beach Avenue were never built. They did not appear in the Vancouver directory from 1924 to 1928.

In 1928, Joseph Hodgson built Compton Lodge on the Beach Avenue portion of the property.

Richard Perry designed a similar, somewhat larger building in Calgary, Alberta. The building was called the Barnhart Apartments, and it was ready to occupy in the fall of 1929.

Barnhart Apartments, Calgary Herald (Calgary, Alberta), October 19, 1929, page 30. Richard T. Perry, L.A.I. B. A., Architect. C. E. Barnhart, General Contractor. “The beautiful Barnhart apartments, located at Twelfth avenue and Sixth street west, are now ready for occupancy. The building was designed by Major R. T. Perry, architect, and built by C. E. Barnhart, the contractor who constructed the Barnhart Model Home. It contains 25 suites with an annex providing accommodation for another five suites. J. Knight was superintendent of construction on this building and J. C. Aitken foreman. One of the features of the building is the heavily Insulated walls which make the suites practically sound-proof. All the most modern electrical appliances are contained within, and the apartment house is one of the finest of its kind in Western Canada.”

The builder of the Barnhart Apartments was Carroll Eben Barnhart (1887-1950), a Vancouver-based contractor who later became a stocks and bonds salesman.

The Barnhart Apartments building is still standing at the northwest corner of Sixth Street and 12th Avenue SW. The street address is 1121 6 Street SW.
